Topic: Immediacy in contemporary implantology: the digital approach 

Dr. David Norre (Co-founder Dentius) graduated from dentistry at K.U. Leuven in 2001 after which he completed a MaNaMa in restorative dentistry at the same university under the supervision of Prof. I. Naert from 2001 to 2005. His interest in implantology led him to attend the Ulg Liège, where he completed 2 years of training in oral implantology from 2006 to 2008, under the supervision of Prof. Eric Rompen.

Since 2007 he has been a teacher at the University of Leuven (Institute for Osseointegration) and lectures on oral implantology and abutment design. In addition to his work as an implantologist and his teaching, Dr. Norre is undertaking research at the Department of Periodontology at K.U. Leuven.

Topic: Augmentation of vertical and horizontal defects of the lateral sections of the mandible

He graduated in Dentistry at the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Králové in 1993 and the General Medicine at the same university in 1998. Since 1994 he has been working full-time on the 1st Faculty of Medicine Dental Clinic, Charles University in Prague, where since 1996 he has been a lecturer. In 2018 he was appointed professor of dentistry.

He has been working at his private practice in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1996. He has been actively involved in implantology since 1997 and he deals with the introduction of Swedish Branemark implants since 1998 – as one of the first in the Czech Republic. He worked at the university clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, and Dep.Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Guildgord, England.

He is also intensively devoted to the research which can be proved by successfully defended grants and the volume and quality of his publications with many articles in significant international journals and his extensive lecture activity not only in Czech Republic but also abroad.

He actively participates in teaching of undergraduate students of dentistry and general medicine at the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He is also involved in postgraduate teaching in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Charles University and the Institute for Further Education of Physicians and Pharmacists.

From 1999 until 2002, Frank Schwarz has worked as Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University Homburg (Section Chair: Prof. Anton Sculean) as well as in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich. 

In 2002 he moved to the Department of Oral Surgery at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where he became Associate Professor in 2006, extraordinary Professor in 2010 and 2015 Full Professor of Oral Medicine and Peri-implant Infections.

In 2013 he became Honorary Professor at the Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia (School of Dentistry and Oral Health.

He had received several appointment offers, such as Director in Implant Dentistry at the New York University (NYU), Professor in Implant Dentistry at the Hong Kong University, or as Professor in Oral Surgery at the University of Leeds.

Since February 2018, he is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Centre for Dentistry and Oral Medicine (Carolinum), Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany.

He serves as an Associate Editor to the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, an Editorial Board Member for Periodontology 2000,  Editorial Board Member for Clinical Oral Implants Research and Editorial Board Member for Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the EAO – European Association for Osseointegration, a Past President of the German Association of Oral Implantology (DGI), an Executive Board Member of the Osteology Foundation and was awarded the André Schröder Research Prize in 2007, the Miller Research Prize in 2012 and the Jan Lindhe Award in 2017.
